How It All Began
In 2003, The Crossings opened as a spiritual oasis for curious, health-conscious people and businesses. This little corner of the Hill Country quickly evolved into a retreat where bright minds and deep souls could convene, share ideas, and learn about and from each other. In 2019, the Crossings was reborn as Miraval’s second wellness resort. We like to think that the spirit of the original vision lives on at Miraval Austin.
Our Hill Country Haven
Nature is nurturing. At Miraval Austin, we’re surrounded by it. Flowering bluebonnets blanket rolling hills, juniper trees bloom with bright berries, and Cypress Creek babbles through our farm. Guests can wander along meandering trails that hug the hills, while intentional architecture makes our natural surroundings easy to appreciate from within the built environment.
And because we’re located in the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, this pristine natural environment is guaranteed by law to stay that way. Of Miraval Austin’s 280-plus acres, 170 will never be developed. That means endangered birds like the golden-cheeked warbler, which nest here (and only here) each year, can continue to make our oasis their own.

Miraval Austin is tucked away in the rolling hills of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve—but you can feel the buoyant energy of Austin throughout the resort. Of course, that’s intentional. From our architects to our designers to our chefs, our team consciously chose each detail in alignment not just with Miraval’s mission, but with the vibrant culture of Texas’ creative capital.
